Dirt cheap chickens saved from the dinner table and put into egg production duty.
I have finally figured out why Ubuntu likes to fail on Proxmox (and also Synology for that matter, which has a Virtualization hypervisor based on Qemu). Googling around got some solutions, but not this one,s o I decided to post it here.
During install, change the NIC settings from VirtIO to E1000. This will allow the install to complete and still have networking when install is done. You can also set this to NIC disabled, but I'm lazy and I just want to set it and forget it. E1000 is not optimized for speed nor reduced CPU, so don't leave it set like this unless you don't care.

Shows completed projects and property status. Last update for a while as we will not have construction projects coming up.
This is a rendering of a house we may build on the property.
It is based on a floor plan that I had ready to build in the US, but will have it adjusted to the building practices here like using concrete instead of wood. The roof over the house is pretty ugly, but lends itself well to the challenges here such as limited access to quality insulation, lots of sun and lots of rain. Also can offer a huge covered area for outside living.
In addition to that, I think that not having to worry as much about roof leaks and water intrusion is a big reason that this design is practical. Might be a bit more expensive than standard construction. This remains to be seen. Construction under the roof will be nicer than out in the open, as the effort will start with the roof and then the structure underneath will be built.
